Boilers are the facilities which convert the chemical energy stored in coal to the intermediate stage, thermal energy. The boilers
are designed so that in normal circumstances a continuous process of
burning takes place.
The furnaces produce varying temperature zones that are best
exploited by utilising the produced heat optimally. For this purpose,
the pipe circuit is laid out taking into account the temperature zones
in the boiler. The points where the steam reaches its final overheat
temperatures are the hottest points of the boiler. The flow of water and
steam through the boiler can be reviewed referring to a simple
schematic of the tube layout in the boiler. The description of the
devices and the operation of the boiler illustrate the functioning of
the system.
