Precisely defined technology
Production of electricity requires a precisely defined technology depending on the basic source of energy. The course of technology is regulated by the technological process which defines the phases of energy conversion, technical devices, and determines the energy conversion efficiency.
The reliability of operation depends on the technical characteristics and quality of the installations and the machinery.
THE LARGEST PRODUCER OF ELECTRICITY IN SLOVENIA
As a result of good decisions made by the engineers at the time of construction, the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant has installed equipment produced by excellent manufacturers from Germany and Switzerland. Therefore, if compared to similar power plants across Europe, the operation of the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant is comparable in terms of production results, and even better in terms of operational readiness. Such results are a sign of the outstanding maintenance and management of the production facilities. With 1029 MW of installed capacity, TEŠ is today the largest fossil fuel power plant in Slovenia, generating 33% of the country’s electricity production.
